About the Club

The deals were never the problem. The door was.

The Capital Club is a private community of investors, allocators, and stewards of generational wealth, built to open a door that has historically stayed closed to everyone without the right access.

The Vessel
“Investing in the current market can feel a lot like going into a war with just a stick and a shield. So we built a vessel to help harbor safe passage.”

The old world protected capital with information asymmetry. The right room, the right phone call, the right last name. That door was closed to most people on purpose.

The Capital Club is the vessel we built to move through that terrain, carrying investors who would otherwise be crossing alone into private opportunities surfaced, filtered, and pressure-tested by the operators already inside.

Not a fund. Not a platform. A room with weekly deal flow, real diligence, and the people to make sense of both.

The Principal

Meet Devon.

Devon created the Club to solve a problem she saw firsthand: exceptional investors being locked out of the best opportunities simply because they didn't have the right access.

Devon is also the founder of Dark Horse Capital and a fund manager at Obsidian X Strategies, with more than $130 million deployed across its strategies and over $9 billion in capital commitments sourced across private credit, real estate, and alternatives over her career. She spends most of the year living in a converted bus home in Costa Rica, by choice. Return on Joy isn't a tagline on this site. It's the position she holds most of.

Her philosophy is simple. Bring the deals you'd take yourself. Bring the people you'd want in the deal with you. Let the room do the rest.

The Story

Nobody handed her the map.

Devon's dad was a pilot. Thirty years with a major airline, a pension, a 401(k) quietly stacking in the background. It was the blueprint she was handed, and for a long time she didn't question it.

She built businesses instead. A gourmet retail company that took off and sold. A house flip that taught her more than it paid. A property management company she'd rather forget. Then years inside a fund, watching how capital actually moves, and realizing the version of investing being sold to everyone else was a fake dream.

Then a friend working on a rollup asked if she knew anyone who could help raise money. She started making calls. Fifty five million dollars later, the light bulb came on: her skill was never the spreadsheet. It was the door.

She's not a guru. She's a matchmaker with a huntress's instinct. She goes out and finds the deals. Then she helps you figure out which one is actually built for the life you're trying to fund. The Capital Club is that skill, turned into a room.

“I hunt the buffalo. I don't make the sausage.”
